I have this though cruising through my mind all time. I am a foreign language trainer. Last month I had taken up a new batch for training, the first few days pass by without any hitches. The participants seem to accept me and show interest in my teaching. However, I suddenly set my eyes on this particular participant who has a very reserved manner, very polished behaviour and who carries h-self in a very appreciable manner. I dont seem to grasp whats happening to me, i seem to like this person more and more everyday, I meet this batch twice a week, ofcourse in the class room I am very professional, I dont strike up any particular conversation with this participant, nor do i acknowledge the presence in any special way. But I am strongly pulled towards this person. We finally had a conversation outside the class, and I even got asked out by this person. We both had gone for coffee and had a wonderful evening. My question is, is this all ethical? Can any trainer go out with a person who is learning under the trainer? Where exactly do I have to draw the line? This person seems very nice and harmless and who would not in anyway expect any favour from me, nor will take any advantage of this relationship. Can anyone drop in a line for me? Id really appreciate it.
